3.5 miles northwest of Yountville sits the tiny hamlet of Oakville (pop. 71). Back in 1868, a gentleman named H.W. Crabb converted Oakville from a steam train water stop into an area that would become legendary for its grapes. He named his vineyard To Kalon, meaning "the beautiful" in Greek. Today, To Kalon supplies grapes for many acclaimed producers. Be sure to stop by the Oakville Grocery, the oldest continually operating grocery store in California, for delicious cheeses, meats, pastries, seasonally prepared foods, and more.

Robert Mondavi Winery
Founded in 1966, Robert Mondavi Winery is known as being a pioneer of many wine-making techniques. They also produce some of most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon in the world, and their vineyard provides perhaps the best Sauvignon Blanc grapes anywhere, from which they craft their signature Fumé Blanc. Guests appreciate that the tours are ideal for those new to wine tasting, as well as connoisseurs.
Far Niente Winery
This winery, whose name translates to "without a care", was founded in 1885 and flourished until the advent of Prohibition. Sadly, it was abandoned and fell into disrepair for 60 years, until it was lovingly restored. The stately winery, immaculately landscaped grounds (considered by many to be the most beautiful in the Napa Valley), and wine caves are not to be missed. Visitors love the personalized attention and truly feel as though they are without a care.
B Cellars Winery
The hallmark of this winery are their blended wines; 18-20 of the Napa Valley's best vineyards represent the B Cellars portfolio, which allows for a breadth of flavors. They are also very food-centric in their approach; in addition to marvelous wines, guests consistently compliment the delicious cuisine. Of note are the impeccable credentials of their staff members; their winemaker was named "One of the Top 20 New Winemakers in the World" by Food & Wine Magazine.
