Burbank
Home to NBC, Walt Disney Studios, Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, and more. While there, check out Bob's Big Boy Restaurant, which has been designated a California Point of Historical Interest. Oh, and stay for the classic car show every Friday!
Universal City
Most famously known as the home of Universal Studios, you'll also want to visit Forest Lawn Memorial Park. It's just a couple minutes away from Universal and is the final resting place for some of Hollywood's biggest legends, including Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart, Walt Disney, and Clark Gable.
Studio City
Once home to the motion picture industry, today the neighborhood is a hipster haven. It's a great area to shop and enjoy the unique bars and restaurants.
Northeast Los Angeles
San Gabriel Valley
The San Gabriel region encompasses about 200 square miles; the neighborhoods are situated mostly to the northeast of L.A.
Pasadena
Home of the famous Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl, Pasadena is also famous for its cultural and scientific institutions such as Caltech, Pasadena Playhouse, Pacific Asia Museum, the Gamble House, and more. You'll also want to plan a visit to the nearby Descanso Gardens, a 160- acre botanical garden that hosts one of the largest collections of camellia bushes in the world.
San Marino
This upscale community is home of the Huntingdon Library, which holds one of the finest collections of rare books in the world. It also has an extensive art collection. The library's grounds consist of 120 acres of botanical gardens such as the 'Japanese Garden' and the 'Chinese Garden.' You may also want to visit the El Molino Viejo ("The Old Mill") which was completed in 1816 and was used as a grist mill for the Mission San Gabriel Arcangel. The mill is the oldest commercial building in SoCal.
Arcadia
Although this neighborhood is largely residential, it is also home to the beautiful Los Angeles Arboretum. The lovely gardens are grouped by the geographical origins of the plants, including South American, South African, Mediterranean, Australian, and Asiatic plants. There is also an herb garden, palm, and bamboo gardens. In addition, the arboretum is home to about 200 peafowl, a symbol of the city of Arcadia. In the summertime, you'll want to enjoy the concerts presented by the Pasadena POPS.
